Air Box

While at Sun-N-Fun this year, I went to the Parts Exchange hangar and bought an air box.
It's supposed to attach directly to the bottom of the carburetor, but it turns out mine won't fit, because of the nose gear braces. So, I used it as an inspiration to make my own. I used .040 aluminum (left over from the gas tank), and purchased the round flanges from Aircraft Spruce. The flapper valve, axel, and control arm are all steel. The axel bushings are aluminum with bronze inserts. Instead of being attached directly to the carburetor, this one will sit on top of the air "scoop" on the bottom of the cowl, with SCAT tubing connecting it to the carburetor and heat muff.

Total Time: 21.0 hrs.
