I glued and sanded the fin "skins" or gusset strips. I also glued and sanded the balsa fairing block on top of the fin. This completes the new fin!
Below, you can see the new fin in front of the old one. I realize it's hard to see from this angle, but the main difference between them (besides the forward stab bracket, of course!) is the distance between the bottom (half) rib and the long one above it. On the old fin, this distance is about 4 inches. On the new one, it's 6. This will allow the elevator to have its full travel without coming into contact with the fin.
